However, draw the line there, and tell your teen she can only wear more makeup when she is at least sixteen. If you are the parent of a teenage boy, one of the most common problems you are going to have to deal with is the issue of girls. Be sure that you have spoken with your son about the dangers of teen pregnancy. This situation is something that few parents can really control because the hormones take over, but effective parenting certainly is available in the form of making sure your son can always feel comfortable about confiding in you.
Whether you have a teen boy or girl, you will need to deal with the issue of teen dating. You might silently weep at this milestone in your child’s life, but it is also an important form of socialization. If you have a younger teen, be sure that the teen is going on group dates rather than one on one dates, and if you have an older teen, make sure they are home by their curfew. It really all comes down to your ability to identify with where your teen is coming from. If you put yourself in their position, you will be able to figure out why they do what they do. Of course, you can also ask other loved ones for advice. You are sure to figure out the most effective parenting skills!
